UNSHUFFLE

Daily Unshuffle Puzzle

SWAPS: 0

New rule update

For players familiar with the game: a new rule has been added! Now, each row and column must contain unique colors, with no repeats within a row or column.

Please note that progress on previous games has been reset to accommodate this new rule. Feel free to revisit and replay older puzzles with this fresh challenge in mind!

How to play

Unshuffle the grid to reveal the hidden 5x5 arrangement with the fewest swaps!

Every row and column should have tiles with different colors, never the same color twice!

You can swap non-adjacent tiles!

The grid starts shuffled. To solve it, you'll need to swap the colored tiles until every tile is in the right spot. Use the row and column scores as your guide—when they all show 5, you've cracked the puzzle!

Swapping tiles

Tap any two tiles to swap their positions. Each swap has the potential to increase your row or column score by putting tiles closer to their hidden positions.

Making strategic swaps

Example:

In the grid above, the last column has 3 correct tiles, and the first two rows have 0 correct tiles, so we can be sure that the 3 correct tiles of the last column are the last ones (Red, Yellow and Green)

We also know that we can't have the same color twice in a row/column, so the second tile of the last column can't be Yellow, Red or Green. This narrows down the possible colors.

The goal is to arrange the tiles so that all row and column scores equal 5, indicating that every tile is in its correct position.

Key tips

  • Observe the row and column scores before and after making a swap to identify correct tile positions.
  • Only 6 colors are in play and only 5 per row/column. If a swap doesn't increase your score, you've narrowed down where that tile might belong!
  • Start your swaps in rows or columns with the highest scores—they're already closer to the correct positions, making them a great first step toward unshuffling the grid.
